Broke but Bougie
Your affordable guide to interior decorating
I'm a recent university graduate with a passion for interior design. As a university student, I found it difficult to make my room into the space I wanted it to be while on a tight (emphasis on the tight) budget. I understand that many of us are struggling to keep up with all of life's expenses and at the end of the day it seems the last thing you have money for is cute home decor...

It's that time of year again! -- When you lug your dusty Christmas decor up from the basement, and pray you wrapped the breakables well enough last year, all while singing along to Michael Bublé 2012 Xmas album and drinking your Bailey's spiked hot chocolate (just me?).
Christmas is one of my favourite time of the year, and definitely my favourite season to decorate for! However, we all know how expensive it can be. One trip to Michael's or Home Sense could seriously deplete those Xmas funds you've so diligently been keeping an eye on.

Today marks the start of my fifth week in London, England! I can't believe four weeks have already come and gone. It seems like just yesterday I was stepping off the plane and eating my first (of many) fish and chip baskets. I brought my computer along with the intention of blogging weekly...but as you can tell that didn't quite happen. Between work, and weekends playing tourist, it's been hard to find time to sit down and write, but here I am...finally!...

Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year! I've always really enjoyed getting dressed up and going out. I always try to make my own costume. I find it's a lot cheaper that way, and gives you the freedom to add your own spin on a costume, PLUS it's always such a fun process. This year my roomate and I decided to dress up as trash...and I know what you're thinking, but we also managed to make it cute! It was such a fun, easy and cheap DIY costume.

Here's how we did it:
Step 1: Grab one large black garbage bag and cut a hole big enough to sit as a tube-style dress...
I recently posted a picture of this completed project on my Instagram story and immediately got such a positive response! I found the idea for this project on Pinterest a few weeks ago, and finally made some time to try it this weekend. I'm sooo happy with the end result, it turned out even better than I was hoping. The materials were cheap, and the entire project from start to finish took me no longer than 2 hours. Follow my simple step-by-step guide to create your own...
