Brighten up your place with these spring picks!

It's time to celebrate...we've officially put that long winter behind us and can now fully embrace the spring season! What I love most about this Spring is the colours that come with it's arrival. It won't be long before we see fresh buds on the trees, and the surfacing of little tulip sprouts. It's also a good opportunity to change up your home decor and bring in some new textures and accents. I've compiled a list of some of my favourite spring finds for this season, and where to get them!

Textured Accents:

H&M Home is one of my favourite sites to browse for affordable decor. They have everything from candle-holders to shower curtains. Bonus: they always have super good sales.

These pastel green velvet curtains are definitely a spring favourite, and would look amazing in a bedroom or living room. They also come in a pretty soft pink colour.

Playful Pillows:

Sometimes all a room needs is a couple textile pieces to completely transform it. The tassels add that element of playfulness to a room, making it the perfect addition to a spring-inspired space. I can't wait to get my hands on this pillow, ordering it ASAP.

Pretty Plates:

How amazing are these braided side plates?!? These make me want to send out invites and throw a spring-themes dinner party TONIGHT.

Anthropology can always be counted on when it comes to darling decor. Though the word "affordable" isn't something people usually associate with this glamorous chain, they always have an impressive section of sale merch. My advice to you? Look no further than the sale section, I've found some of my favourite decor pieces on the back racks of my local Anthropology.

Room Enhancers

When it comes to rugs I'm pretty picky. They can really set the tone for a room. When picking a rug it's important to consider the elements of the room you put it in. Do the colours of the rug blend in to the furniture, or stand out as it's own piece? I think it's best to strive for a area rug that balances making a statement, and complimenting the furniture.

I really love this rug from All Modern. I think it strikes that balance perfectly. Blues are really in this season too!

Bold Prints:

When people think artwork, they typically think "investment piece". But filling your walls with pretty pieces doesn't have to be expensive. I recently stumbled upon this amazing site called Artfully Walls. There's hundreds of different prints you can choose from ranging in size, style and price. There's a section for prints under $20 where I found these two.

Colourful Additions:

I definitely have a thing for this colour...

and okay, maybe it's not the comfiest looking chair in the world, buuut it is cute. I love the idea of swapping out my bulky desk chair for this sleek and colourful piece. And it's sooo affordable.

Faux Flowers:

I love a big bouquet of fresh flowers as much as the next girl, and while sometimes I might be tempted to splurge and treat myself to some, the habit can definitely get expensive. If you're looking to save some money, but love having that colourful table arrangement, I encourage you to buy faux.

Yes sometimes fake flowers can look unbelievably tacky, but it's all about where you get them from and how much time you're willing to spend looking around. I've found Hudson Bay to be one of the better options for fake flowers, AND they always seem to be on sale.
