For a while I've been really inspired by interior designer, Emily Henderson, and her approach to decorating a home. One thing I've always admired about her is she typically includes at least one antique piece in each room she styles. I love the idea of doing this in my own home, and have since been trying to frequent some antique stores in Ottawa.
Though antiques can be lovely, they can also be hella expensive. It's a good idea to browse with an idea of what you want, and a price range you're okay with. Otherwise, they can become easily overwhelmed and walk away spending way too much on something you definitely didn't need.
This weekend I decided to check out some antique places near me. I ended up falling HARD for a bronze oval mirror from a place called Yardley's Antiques in Old Ottawa South. The mirror was exactly what I wanted, and at just $45, it fit my price range perfectly. Here it is in my home!:

I decided to hang the mirror in a little alcove off of my living room, where it fits the decor around it perfectly! It ties the room together so well, amazing the impact one small addition to a room can make.

As a sidenote: aren't these faux flowers amazing??? I found them at IKEA for $2.49 a stem. I've gotten so many compliments on them so far!
